B44 build, night #2

I wasn't able to find the right shock ball end, so my rear shocks aren't built yet. I want the latest version of this part, coming off the newer mold. It has more material around the eyelet hole and has the cavity #'s of the mold on the part.

I was able to assembly most of the front and rear gearboxes and suspension, but I still need a few parts before I can complete them. I need extra diff shims to tighten the gear mesh of the diffs, since I've heard of them stripping under heavy load and titanium hinge pins to replace the heavy stock steel ones (I always run Lunsford titanium hinge pin in all my cars). Once I get these parts I can finally put everything together and it will start looking like a buggy vs a pile of parts :)

I also still need to pick up a Lipo battery brace from Diggity Designs (http://www.diggitydesigns.com/D3_B44_SaddleBraces.html), but they're still out of stock :( I guess I'll have to come up with some other method to hold the Lipo in the car until they are available again.

My B44 arrives!!

My B44 arrived last night! I began the build after I finished dinner. I put together the diffs and front shocks with no issues, but I ran into a problem when building the rear shocks. A shock rod end must've split when I installed the pivot ball, because it spread wide apart when I attempted to screw it onto the shock shaft. So, I need to pick a new one today, along with some new foam inserts ( the kit ones were kinked). I quit for the night after building all the turnbuckles and steering bellcranks. It may seem like I didn't get alot built, but diffs and shocks need to built correctly to make sure the car handles well. so I took my time with building these components :)

I think I just found my new radio! Damm! I just bought a Spektrum M8 module and 3 Pro reciever's a month ago too! LOL! I've used Airtronics radios forever, because I like the feel of the trigger, but if I like the trigger feel on this new native 2.4 GHz radio, I may just switch to Futaba! I've looked at he DX3R from Spektrum, but I just don't like the look. Now, the 4PK just looks sick!

New car on the way!

I've got a new ride on its way out to me... A Team Associated Factory Team B44!!

I'm going to set this car up with all the goodies! LRP Sphere Competition TC brushless ESC, LRP Vector X11 6.5t motor, Spektrum Pro reciever, Airtronics 94362Z Rock Crusher steering servo, and TrakPower 4800mah saddle pack Lipo :)

I have a Yokomo MX-4 that I purchased in '98. It's still in running condition, but I can only find a few parts for it on Ebay now. What a shame, as I was only able to race that car a few times at the off-road Reedy Race of Champions. I remember that car breaking every round at that race! LOL! I should be able to race the B44 every weekend at OCRC, as they have a pretty good turn out in Mod 4wd, and if I break, I can get replacement parts right at the track at the on-site hobby shop :)
