MHRC Virgins

I took some racing buddies who have never raced at MHRC there on Sunday 1/24/16. They would both end up racing in stock buggy with me. 

While I blew out in all my races (I must need a break) they did really well. One of them qualified 2nd in the A and the other guy was 6th I think.

I ended up in the B main?!  I lead most of the race, but flipped over coming onto the straight on the last lap and finished 3rd, outside of a bump up to the A. 

Expert Stock Buggy with the 3.0

I raced only expert stock buggy on Saturday 1/23/16, as I needed an easy day after a hectic Friday night!

I spent the morning cleaning all my cars after racing them Wednesday and Friday nights. I also figured out how to install a fan on my motor in the 3.0. I used 2 thin servo spacers from my B5m kit. I bent them to make 2 mounts which I bolted to the gearbox. It works pretty good!

I blow out in all my races :(. Driving too hard probably. At least I turned a 17.9 with my 1572g "stock" buggy with Electron tires! :)

I end up finishing 5th after battling with Travis for 4th. 

Fill'em up Friday! 1/22/16

I decided to "Fill'em up" to the max and race 3 classes!  This was going to be interesting. LOL!  I raced 13.5 Truck, Expert 17.5 buggy, and 13.5 buggy.  

I was using a 17.5 motor in my 3.0 buggy, but raced in in the 13.5 class, so I could compare lap times between it and my B5m which I was racing in stock, in the same track conditions.

I managed to TQ all 3 classes (if I count my truck race, but I was the only truck lol) and win 2 of them and finish 3rd in the last class :)

But, I don't think I'll do this again. There were only 5 heats and I was constantly racing or marshaling, with no break!  I didn't mind the driving part, it was the marshaling part I didn't like. Lol. Maybe if I had some help, I'll do it again. Hahaha!

Lazy 13.5 buggy racing

On Wednesday 1/20/16, I tried out my "updated" 3.0 in some 13.5 buggy racing. But, the turnout for the class was low with only 6 cars. So my concentration level was really low. Lol!  I ended up qualifying a dismal 4th out of 6. 

In the main I got a good start, but made an early mistake and dropped back. Then I passed the 2 cars in front of me and moved into 2nd!  I could see the leader in the next section, so I cleaned up my driving in hopes of catching him!  I wasn't able to, but at least I had my best run of the night. 

Sunday wrenching

We headed out to SDRC for some practice runs to break in tires. Unfortunately, many others had the same idea and it was really busy!

Instead I ended up wrenching on the 3.0, by adding my new carbon fiber front shock tower, titanium shock mounts, black aluminum locknuts, and some titanium screws. 

I also spotted some new dirt on the side of the building. Maybe it will be added during the next layout change?
