The RC8 is back!

I decided to get my RC8 running again since my friend recently bought a 1/8e buggy.  I needed to install a receiver and transponder, then take out the spacers in the battery tray so I could fit a bigger battery.

It was a blast to drive!  But the setup needs some tweaks and the shocks need a rebuild. Oh and I also ended up breaking my steering servo somehow and the esc fan also broke?!  

Stock Buggy, meh

I hung out with my racing buddies Saturday, racing in the Stock Buggy class. I managed to qualify 3rd over all in round 1, but dropped to 6th overall after a bad marshal job in round 2. At least I beat my fast lap of 17.6, with a 17.4!

In the main I went too wide in the 3rd turn and spun or something and dropped to last. I ended up passing some cars in a pileup on the straight and finished in 5th. At least I moved up?

Back at it!

I decided to head back out to the track for some stock buggy racing with my buddies. I also wanted to work on my setup to get below a 17.5 lap.

The changes I made were, add a large front wing, green front springs, 23mm front ride height, and 24mm rear ride height.  In both rounds of qualifying my fast lap was only 17.8, and I managed a slow 17 lap run, to qualify 4th in the A. 

During the main I managed to stuff it into the pipe and cause a pile up on the 1st lap coming back to the straight. Oops!  I came out of the pile up in last place, but worked my way back up to 6th. I almost made a pass for 5th, but I crashed trying to make a clean pass. 

I was able to turn a 17.5 lap in the main. 

I kept driving after the race was over and managed to turn a 17.3 in practice. :)

No racing?!

I haven't gone racing for the past 2 weeks. Mostly because I've spent most of my time fixing my broken helis, and haven't done any work on my race cars. So many projects to finish!

Maybe I'll get some racing in this Saturday. Especially if it ends up raining and I can't go fly. Lol!
